The Red Sea stormed the court, and the Lady Falcons celebrated their first championship title and a number of awards.
Adriana Bravo, Emma Noskey, Krista Trimble and Emilie Selvidge made the All-Tournament team. Selvidge also received the honor of being named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
"We have talked about winning the championship all year after we lost in the championship last year. It was our goal to make it to that moment. It's one of the best feelings in the world to accomplish what you have been working so hard on for so long," added Selvidge. "I'm so proud of my team and how hard we have worked to become the best we can be to win the conference championship. I love all the effort that has been put in by everyone and I am so excited for nationals."
"After losing in the championship match last year, my girls have kept that chip on their shoulder and have used it as their motivation. Our theme after losing, quickly became "earn it" for this year. All summer and season we have talked about each person's role and the importance of each role and how nothing is given to us, that we must earn everything. Their focus and heart were amazing to watch in the tournament. At one point during the middle of the match, I teared up because they were playing their hearts out and competing so well. They didn't drop a set in the whole tournament! I'm so proud of them for earning this, and becoming the 2022 CAC Champions," said head coach Carry Brown.
The Lady Falcons secured the conference's automatic bid to the NAIA national tournament and will take on #4 Concordia University (Neb.) on Saturday.
