Lawrenceville, Ga. – Florida College men's soccer fell 4–1 to Georgia Gwinnett on Thursday night in a tough road matchup against one of the top teams in the Continental Athletic Conference.
The Grizzlies jumped ahead early with two first-half goals, but the Falcons fought back in the second half when John Solis found the back of the net in the 46th minute. The sophomore midfielder's unassisted strike marked his second goal of the season and cut the deficit to 2–1 before Georgia Gwinnett pulled away late.
Florida College goalkeeper Ahiezer Santiago tallied three saves while facing 15 total shots, and midfielder Leo Hackett and defender Brenin Wert each contributed offensively with shot attempts.
Despite creating a few promising chances — including three corner kicks — the Falcons couldn't overcome Georgia Gwinnett's high-powered offense. With the loss, Florida College moved to 5–7–1 on the season and 1–2 in CAC play.
