AVE MARIA, Fla. — Florida College put up 100 points on the road Thursday night but came up short in a 106–100 shootout against Ave Maria.
The Falcons came out firing, dropping 55 points in the first half and taking a 5-point lead into the break. Malik Beauford led the way with 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting, while Sam Massaquoi added 18 and knocked down three threes. Gordon Magok stayed hot from the perimeter with 17 points on a perfect 3-for-3 from deep, and freshman Aiden Wall finished with 7 points and a team-high 6 assists.
Florida College shot 56.7% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc, but Ave Maria's 28 made free throws proved to be the difference down the stretch.
