Florida College Falls in Five-Set Battle Against Pensacola Christian

After dropping the opening set, the Falcons responded with two consecutive set wins, highlighted by an efficient .400 hitting percentage in the third. Pensacola Christian rallied back to take the fourth and fifth sets, securing the victory in the season opener for both teams.
Leading the way for Florida College was Cassidy Lee, who recorded an impressive 22 kills on .319 hitting, adding 19 digs and four total blocks for 25 total points. Fiona Sampaio followed with 16 kills and 14 digs, while setter Taina de Lima Nunes distributed 43 assists, adding two service aces and five digs. Addeson Coffey and Oliwia Malinowska contributed from the service line with two and four aces, respectively, while Margarida Almeida anchored the defense with 12 digs.
Despite the loss, the Falcons outperformed the Eagles in total kills (49 to 36) and assists (49 to 34). However, a high number of attack errors and 14 service errors proved costly late in the match.
The Falcons now prepare for their last home match of the season taking place at 5pm EDT against New College of Florida.
