Dalton, Ga. – Florida College men's soccer fought hard on the road Thursday night, earning a 2-2 draw against Dalton State in a competitive non-conference matchup.
The Roadrunners struck first in the 24th minute when Sohail Ebrahimi finished off an assist from Jesus Huitanda to give Dalton State a 1-0 lead. The Falcons created a handful of first-half chances but entered the break still trailing.
Momentum shifted after halftime, and Florida College found its spark through sophomore midfielder Leo Hackett. Hackett scored the equalizer in the 69th minute with an unassisted strike, then gave the Falcons the lead just four minutes later, finishing a pass from Solon Pinto to make it 2-1.
Dalton State, however, responded late. In the 83rd minute, Jonathan Hernandez converted to level the score at 2-2, where it remained until the final whistle.
The Roadrunners outshot the Falcons 25-8, but goalkeeper Filip Borka was outstanding in net, recording 11 saves to help preserve the draw.
Hackett led Florida College with three shots and two goals, while Pinto added an assist.
