BELLEVUE, Neb. – Florida College men’s soccer earned a 2-1 road victory over Bellevue University on Thursday, improving to 4-3-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
The Falcons struck first in the 27th minute when Leo Hackett converted a pass from Jokubas Samsonas to put Florida College ahead 1-0. They doubled their lead early in the second half as Robbie Lloyd-Jones scored in the 56th minute, assisted by Motiejus Samsonas, making it 2-0.
Bellevue pulled one back in the 76th minute, but Florida College’s defense held firm the rest of the way. Goalkeeper Filip Borka recorded six saves on seven shots faced to secure the win.
Offensively, the Falcons tallied 12 shots, including four on goal, while earning four corner kicks. Defensively, Florida College battled through 16 fouls but limited Bellevue to a single goal despite the Bruins’ 18 total shots.
The win marks a strong start to conference play as Florida College looks to carry momentum into its next match.
