TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - The Florida College Falcons returned to the hardwood after a long Christmas break and 28 days away from Conn Gymnasium to defeat the Welch College (Tenn.) Flames 87-56.
Just five minutes into the game, Phat Cleveland suffered a serious non-contact injury that forced him to miss the rest of the contest. Matt Simpson led the Falcons in scoring with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Calvin Finch Jr. put up 10 points and 7 rebounds. EJ Wynn contributed 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in the win.
The win moves the #10 Falcons to 13-3. Up next, the Falcons travel to Lake Wales to take on the Warner University Royals. Last year, the Falcons defeated Warner 78-70 in Conn gymnasium.
