Falcons Fall to Seahawks 3-1

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – The Lady Falcons were defeated by the Keiser University Seahawks in four sets, 17-25, 25-22, 22-25, and 24-26.
The Seahawks started out on fire in the first set taking control at the net early in the match. They had 12 kills in the first set on 38 total attempts and held Florida College to just nine kills on 44 total attempts. Keiser University's Frederica Silba had 14 kills in the match and was a problem for Florida College all evening. The Seahawks would take the first set 17-25 and look to continue their momentum into the next set.
The Lady Falcons rallied behind a 13-kill set to even the match at 1-1. Carolina Ramalheira led the way for the Lady Falcons scoring 16 kills on 41 attempts in the match. With the dominant hitting performance, Florida College was able to edge Keiser University in the second set in kills 13 to 10. This output led to the Lady Falcons taking the second set 25-22.
The third set continued to show just how evenly matched these teams are. Florida College finished the set with 11 kills and Keiser University finished with 12. The Seahawks' Mackenzie Pryor swung hard and was a difference maker in the match with 18 kills across all four sets. She made enough of a difference in the third set as the Seahawks edged out the Lady Falcons 22-25.
With the Seahawks leading 2-1, they looked to shut the door and steal a rare away win from the Lady Falcons who are almost perfect in Conn Gymnasium. Florida College's Addeson Coffey has played a big role in their success this season and this match was no different as she racked up 16 digs across all four sets. Despite another stellar performance, the Lady Falcons suffered defeat as the Seahawks wrapped the final set up 24-26 and won the match.
