Lady Falcons Lose Heart-breaker to Royals
LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Florida College Lady Falcons lost to Warner in five games (25-23, 20-25, 25-20, 23-25,15-13).
Victoria Trueheart had an astounding 20 kills to lead FC in the match. Freshman Allison Rogers had a career-high 46 assists in the match!
Freshman Catherine Trueheart had a career-high 23 digs to lead the team.
Krista Trimble had 5 aces to lead the Lady Falcons.
The first set was tied at 13 until Warner used a 5-0 run to take the five-point lead. FC would come back to tie the score at 20 after a kill by Trimble. The teams traded points to even the score out at 23 all. Warner collected the final two points to win the set.
The second set was close the whole time. Tied at 19, FC used a 6-1 run, capped off on a kill by Victoria Trueheart to win the set 25-20.
In the third set, the Royals took a 13-5 lead and never relinquished it, holding on to win 25-20.
In the fourth set, facing elimination, FC trailed early 2-6. They rallied to tie the game at 15 all. Warner then won the next 4 points. Trailing by 4, FC used a 6-0 run, primarily by unforced errors on the Royals, to take a two-point lead 21-19. The Royals fought to tie it at 23-23 after a kill by Navarro. The Lady Falcons finished strong this time and Catherine Trueheart finished it off with a kill to win the set, 25-23.
In the fifth and final set, Warner got out to a 9-4 lead and never trailed. FC tied it at 11 after a Rogers service ace. Warner won the set 13-15.
