Lady Falcons Get it Done Against Saint Thomas
LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Florida College Lady Falcons defeated Saint Thomas University 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-17) at the Royals Labor Day Volleyball Classic.
The Lady Falcons (2-0) were led in kills by Abigail Hodges with 9. They were led in digs by senior Darian Hornsby with 13. Victoria Trueheart added 10 of her own.
Additionally, Kamdyn Mohr had a team-high 15 assists, followed closely by Allison Rogers with 13. Victoria Trueheart also registered a team-high in aces with 4.
In the first set, the teams were tied up at 17 apiece, before FC went on an 8-2 run to win the set 25-19. This would end up being the closest set of the match
The second set saw the Lady Falcons get off to a hot start, taking a 19-8 lead! However, they would falter, allowing a 7-0 run for Saint Thomas, primarily all on unforced errors. They ended up cleaning it up and finished the set with a 25-18 win.
The third set saw the Lady Falcons get out to an early comfortable lead and they never looked back, finishing off Saint Thomas 25-17. Saint Thomas had an abysmal .042 hitting percentage, compared to FC's .278%.
