Florida College Falcons Showcase Grit at Holloway Park Cross Country Meet
LAKELAND, Fla. - The Florida College Falcons displayed remarkable perseverance and skill at the recent Cross Country event held at Holloway Park. The meet featured challenging Men's 8K and Women's 5K courses and saw the Falcons competing against teams from across the state including Florida Tech, Southeastern U., and others.

The meet featured challenging Men's 8K and Women's 5K courses and saw the Falcons competing against teams from across the state including Florida Tech, Southeastern U., and others.
The men's team finished with an impressive team score of 100, while the Women's team posted a solid score of 134. Featured athletes included Daniel Collins who led the men's team with a blazing average mile of 05:44.3, culminating in a total time of 28:31.8. His performance, alongside teammates such as Sam Johnson and Easton Dial, contributed to an overall team average of 29:45 for the 8K race. At the end of the week, Collins was named the Continental Athletic Conference Runner of the Week after being the fourth highest finishing freshman in the Southeastern Fire Invitational.
On the women's side, Kendall Griggs stood out with an average mile time of 08:14.8, finishing her 5K in 25:37.4. Her achievement, together with efforts from Lillian Hamlett and Carlie Gainer, helped the team achieve a commendable average time of 27:00.
The meet not only highlighted individual prowess but also underscored the collective endurance and competitive spirit of the Falcons. With such talented runners and promising results, Florida College continues to build its reputation as a formidable contender in collegiate cross country racing.
