Falcons Soar Over Trinity Baptist Eagles
TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - The Florida College men's soccer team got off to a quick start and never looked back Tuesday night as they were victorious over Trinity Baptist College with a score of 8-0.
The Falcons scored three goals within the first 25 minutes of play and added to that total once more, bringing the score to 4-0 at half. The Falcons would double their goals in the second half, securing another home win on Quall's Field.
"This is exactly the type of performance we hoped to get out of the guys," Coach PJ Anderson said. "We tactically knew what to do following some focused training sessions, and the guys executed it during the match. The match was not perfect, but it continues to give us momentum as we look to improve one game at a time."
Many players got on the scoresheet and received minutes, but several stood out. Team captain and junior Krist Berisha was a great attacking menace and finisher, as he finished the game with two goals and two assists. Junior Uziel Hernandez continues to find the back of the net, as he added in two goals. Freshman Camilo Arango scored his first goal of his collegiate campaign as a Falcon and added an assist to his stats.
Defensively, centerbacks Mark Domis, junior, and Andrew Syzonenko, freshman, did a great job of fending off any would-be attacks from the Eagles. This helped goalkeeper Anton Richard, sophomore, record his first shut out in goal. Sophomore Nick Wlodarczyk continues to contribute to the attack as he recoded yet another assist from defense.
The Falcons continue their home stand on Friday, September 20, as they take the field against the Warner Royals at 6 p.m. To stay up to date with all the latest news, be sure to download the Florida College Athletics app on your phone and to follow us on Twitter @FC_Athletics_.
