TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – Florida College Men's Basketball is thrilled to announce the addition of sophomore guard Tate Truby to the 2025 roster. The 6’1” transfer from Hardin Simmons University brings a strong shooting résumé and a proven ability to make an immediate impact on the court.
Originally from Lubbock, Texas, Truby starred at Lubbock Trinity Christian, where he left his mark on Texas high school basketball. During the 2021-22 season, he led all TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) players in three-pointers made with 147, establishing himself as one of the top perimeter threats in the state.
Off the court, Truby plans to major in Business at Florida College, furthering his commitment to growth both academically and athletically.
“I’m extremely grateful and excited for the opportunity to play at Florida College where I can grow as a person and basketball player. Can’t wait to get to work and stack some wins infront of the students and fans,” Truby said.
“Tate is an experienced and confident basketball player with a great basketball background. With his shooting ability and work ethic, Tate is a huge weapon in building up our team and program. Tate Truby will help bring an exciting style of play to Florida College Basketball,” Head Coach Brian Blackburn said.
Welcome to the Falcons, Tate!
