TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – The Florida College Falcons avenged another loss from earlier in the season on Monday night, defeating the Webber International University Warriors 86-76.
The Falcons trailed early, with Webber coming out on fire from beyond the arc. FC would rally to lead 35-26, but Webber would pull back to tighten the score before half. Deonte' Martinez went on a 6-2 run himself to end the half, as the Falcons led 44-40.
The second half was all Florida College. Webber's Eden Holt and Tyrone Nesby made some tough shots early to keep them in the game, but the Falcons surge proved to be too much. FC used a 24-6 run from the 14:46 mark to the 6:21 mark to extend the lead to 23 points. WIU would keep fighting until the end, making the final score a much more respectable 10-point win for the Falcons, 86-76.
The Falcons were led in scoring again by Tyshon Judge, who poured in 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. It's Judge's 3rd game in a row with at least 23 points on 50-plus percent shooting from the field. Keegan Zoller had a very solid game, putting up 15 points and 7 rebounds. Deonte' Martinez continued his strong play, adding 11 points. Jashavius Perdue had his second straight double-digit rebounding performance, grabbing 12 rebounds and scoring 7 points.
The win moves the Falcons to 10-3 on the year and drops the Warriors to 7-2. Up next, the Falcons will head to Thomasville, Georgia to take on Thomas University. FC defeated Thomas 83-68 on opening night in Conn Gymnasium. The game tips at 2 PM (ET) on Saturday, December 9.
