TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - The Florida College Falcons handled their business on Thursday night to the tune of 83-56 over the Barons from Brewton-Parker College.

FC started the second half on a 12-0 run in just three minutes to extend their lead to 29 points. BPC answered with a 10-0 run of their own to cut the deficit back to 19 with 15:04 remaining.
Over the next 7 minutes, the Falcons used a 28-11 run to take a 38-point lead. It would prove to be their largest of the night. The Barons clawed back late to lose the game by 27.
Matt Simpson led all scorers with 24 points and 6 rebounds. No other Falcons reached double figures in the contest. Anthony Bittar dished out 9 assists for a career-high, including a couple of alley-oops to Phat Cleveland and Chinedu Okonkwo. They held the Barons to just 31.8% shooting from the field and 8% from three-point land.
The win puts the Falcons at 4-0. "Tonight was another step in the right direction," mentioned Head Coach Chase Teichmann. "The guys really focused in on the game plan and executed. I thought the defensive effort was strong again. There are some things to clean up of course. Overall, we are very pleased with the result tonight."
Up next for FC is a trip up to Tallahassee to take on the #20 ranked Florida State Seminoles in an exhibition contest on Friday evening at 6 PM. The game is open to the public and will not be broadcast or live-streamed. After FSU, Florida College returns to Conn Gymnasium on Saturday to take on Johnson University (Fla.) at 4 PM.
