TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - The Florida College Falcons took care of business on Saturday afternoon, dismantling Bacone College by a score of 125-61.
The 64-point win sets a record for the largest margin of victory by the Falcons in the NAIA era. Matt Simpson led the Falcons in scoring with 20 points. EJ Wynn poured in a career-high 18 points. Drew Kramer added 16 points, an early career-high for him as well in his second college game. Anthony Bittar continued his strong play with 11 points off the bench.
Bacone led 16-13 with 12:07 remaining in the first half. From that point forward, FC used a 47-9 run over the next 10 minutes to take a 35-point lead into halftime.
"Today was a good day for our team," said Coach Teichmann. "We picked up a win over a conference opponent. We left the game relatively healthy. We got everybody in the game and shared the ball well. For a stretch in the first half, I thought we really played our brand of basketball. That was exciting to see and fun for the guys. Also, another great crowd. Shout out to our fans, they are the best, and proving why."
The Falcons move to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in CAC play. They'll take on the 1-1 Webber International Warriors on Tuesday night here in Conn Gymnasium at 7 PM. Go Falcons!
