Falcons Suffer Pair of Heart-Breakers
TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - The Florida College Falcons lost both games on the final possession this weekend. Having a lead in both games, the Falcons forced a bad shot and a miss but allowed an offensive rebound put back in both situations.
Battling injuries, the Falcons shorter rotation saw explosions from their backcourt in both contests. Phat Cleveland poured in 31 points on Friday night and 17 points Saturday. Matt Simpson had 24 points Friday and 21 Saturday. Jalon Perry added 11 Friday and 13 Saturday. EJ Wynn had a career-high Friday night with 15 points, all in the first half.
"Two of the toughest losses we have ever experienced," said head coach Chase Teichmann. "We have to learn to rebound the ball in crunch time and execute under pressure. Until we do that, nothing will change."
The Falcons drop to 12-11 on the year after starting 11-3. Their last 4 home losses are by a combined 6 points.
They will travel to Brewton-Parker on Tuesday to start their 4-game road trip.
