Falcons Head Into Break on Winning Streak
TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - The Florida College Falcons (7-6) won their third game in a row on Tuesday, defeating the Toccoa Falls Screaming Eagles 89-74.
The Falcons got off to a good start, but couldn't pull away in the first half. They led by 9 at intermission despite shooting a freezing cold 1-of-15 from beyond the arc.
The Falcons exploded to start the second half. They jumped out to a 30-point lead with 8:44 remaining after a Sam Brown free throw. TFC would continue to fight down the stretch and make the game look closer than it was.
Milz Tatum got back on track, dropping 20 points. Matt Simpson poured in 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting. Stefan Nakic-Vojnovic added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the double-double. Andrew Voss was one rebound shy of a double-double. He tallied 11 points and 9 rebounds.
"Good way to finish off the semester," stated head coach Pat Todd. "Proud of our guys for getting three in a row before break. We have an incredibly tough schedule coming up. This is a good time to rest up physically and mentally for our team and come back energized and ready to go after break"
The Falcons' players will head home for winter break for a couple weeks before returning home to take on conference foe Dalton State on January 2nd in Conn Gymnasium.
