Falcons Stumble at Warner
LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Florida College Falcons couldn't carry the momentum of the weekend into their contest at Warner on Tuesday night, falling to the Royals 97-63.
The Falcons turned the ball over 31 times in the ballgame. That led to 33 Warner points. FC trailed 45-23 at intermission. They would cut the lead to 17 in the second half with just over 10 minutes remaining, but Warner would make a run of their own to put the game out of reach.
The Falcons were led in scoring by Matt Simpson with 19 points. Matt McIntyre chipped in 14, while Stefan Nakic-Vojnovic rounded out the double digit scorers with 12. Warner meanwhile had seven players reach the double-figure scoring mark.
The loss drops the Falcons to (3-2) on the year. FC doesn't have to wait too long to right the ship. They'll take on (3-0) Ave Maria University on Saturday at 3 PM in Conn Gymnasium in another non-conference affair. The Gyrenes came back from 16-down with just over six minutes left to beat the Falcons at the buzzer last year at Ave Maria.
