Falcons Upset by Brewton-Parker on the Road
MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - The Florida College Falcons lost to the Brewton-Parker Barons 89-82 on Monday night.
This was the final game of the seven-game road trip. The Falcons shot better from the field, three-point line, and free throw line in the game and still fell 7 points short. They doubled up the Barons in the turnover category although the 12 turnovers were well below their average.
The Falcons took a 1 point lead into the break, 36-35. The second half was much higher scoring. The Falcons failed to get enough stops in the second half to secure the win.
Jacob Roark led the Falcons in scoring with 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. Matt Simpson added 11 points and 8 rebounds. Andrew Voss scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Kent Hegarty added 10 points. Nakic-Vojnovic saw his 13 game double-digit scoring streak snapped (he scored six points).
The loss drops the Falcons to 12-14, 6-12 in SSAC play. The Falcons host Dalton State University on Thursday night, before senior day versus Martin Methodist on Saturday.
