Falcons Lose Heart-breaker at Blue Mountain
BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. - The Florida College Falcons dropped a big game to the Toppers from Blue Mountain College 64-67.
Similar to the Bethel game, it was another abysmal first half for the road team. The Falcons again scored just 22 and trailed by 14. They shot 22.9% from the field in the first half, including 1-of-14 from distance.
After trailing by as many as 17 in the second half, the Falcons rallied like never before and took a 6 point lead with 4 minutes remaining after a Bryce Nickels layup.
FC had a 1 point lead with 37 seconds remaining, and Tae Tae Ross intercepted a pass intended for Matt Simpson and laid it in to take the lead. The Falcons would turn it over on the next possession also, forcing them to foul and end up losing by 3.
The Falcons played 11 players in the contest, with only six players scoring. Jacob Roark and Stefan Nakic-Vojnovic each led the team in scoring with 18. Andrew Voss added 14 points in the loss.
The Falcons need to get back on track quick, however, they will continue their road trip next week with three away games, starting with 9th ranked Stillman College.
