Warner Gives Falcon's Their First Loss
TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - The Florida College Falcons picked the wrong night to play their worst game in a while. The #19 ranked Warner Royals defeated them 83-61 on Thursday night in Conn Gymnasium.
61 points is the lowest FC has scored in the NAIA era. The Falcons shot a putrid 29.7% from the field and even worse 20.6% from beyond the arc. The turnover problems continued, although the 19 committed is a season-low.
Jacob Roark continued his strong play with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. The team was led in scoring by Stefan Nakic-Vojnovic, who dropped 14 points. Kent Hegarty was the only other Falcon to reach double figures with 12.
The Falcons got behind early and never could catch back up. The basket had a lit on it for most of the game, from open layups to open three-pointers, FC couldn't buy a bucket most of the night.
Luckily for the Falcons, they don't have to wait too long to redeem themselves. Tuesday they'll travel to take on the Gyrenes of Ave Maria University (1-0) at 7 PM.
The loss drops FC to 2-1 on the year. Be sure to follow @FC_Hoops_ on twitter for all men's basketball news and @FC_Athletics_ for all things FC sports.
