Falcons Fail to Slow Down Warner Royals
The Florida College Falcons fell to the Warner Royals 103-83 on Tuesday night in Conn Gymnasium. Kent Hegarty led the way with 20 points on the evening. Austin Mills added 13 points and five rebounds, while Bryce Nickels chipped in 10 points and six rebounds.
Warner was led by junior Khalil Ozuna who had 37 points. Melton Sanders added 27 points of his own. FC struggled to contain the duo as they accounted for 62% of Warner's scoring.
FC made the same amount of field goals as Warner, and more three-pointers actually. The difference in the box score was the foul line. Warner shot 29 of 32 for 91%. FC shot just 7 of 12 from the charity stripe.
The game was closer than the score indicates. FC fouled to extend the game late. During the second half, the Falcons continued to keep the score close but failed to get stops when they needed them most. Warner kept their foot on the gas to stage off the comeback.
The Falcons fall to (16-4). This is the first loss to an NAIA opponent for FC this season. The loss marks the first home loss since early November. The Falcons take on Webber International on Thursday at 7:30 in Conn Gymnasium.
