Falcons Defeat Welch College Flames
The Falcons of Florida College used a strong second half performance to beat down the Welch College Flames, 88-58. Kent Hegarty led the way with 19 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Jacob Roark and Jahkeal Samuel added 13 points apiece. Lynorris Hamilton filled up the stat sheet with 12 points, six assists, six rebounds, and five steals. Franck Tsoungui had 12 points and four rebounds in his first game back after missing the last four games due to illness.
Welch had a great student section and a packed house that helped propel them in the game early. They only trailed by eight points at the half (44-36). The Falcons were consistent, scoring 44 points in both halves. Their defense showed up in a major way in the second stanza. FC limited Welch to 0-15 from beyond the arc in the second half, after allowing the Flames to shoot 7-15 from distance in the first half. 19 offensive rebounds led to 17 second-chance points for the Falcons in the game. The Falcons recorded 20 assists in the game, which moves them to 14-1 when reaching the 20 assist mark in a game.
