Falcons Overcome Halftime Deficit, Beat Cincinnati Christian
The first game of the Truett-McConnell Christmas Tournament was a success, as the Falcons defeated Cincinnati Christian 87-76.
FC trailed by 10 points at halftime after shooting 18% from beyond the arc in the first stanza. Turnovers also plagued the Falcons as they recorded 12.
The second half was a completely different story. The Falcons went on a 43-13 run to take a twenty point lead. Jahkeal Samuel connected on three of his four triples during the run.
The Eagles wouldn't go down easy, as they fought back to cut the deficit to nine with 4 minutes left to play. That was the closest it got, as the Falcons held on to win by double digits. FC held CCU to (1/14) shooting from behind the arc in the second half.
Kent Hegarty and Jahkeal Samuel led the Falcons in scoring with 16 points apiece. Jordan Benjamin had 12 points and eight rebounds. Franck Tsoungui and Darwin Morales added 11 points each.
The win marks the eighth in a row for FC. They now sit at (10-2) and take on Truett-McConnell University tonight at 6 PM.
