Falcons Bury Mingoes
The Falcons defeated the University of Bahamas Mingoes 102-70 on Friday night in Conn gymnasium.
FC was led by Zach Brock who finished with 15 points on (5-8) shooting from downtown. Kent Hegarty continued his streak of scoring in double figures. He added 12 points and ten rebounds to register the double-double. Junior PG Lynorris Hamilton also registered a double-double, his first of the season. He tallied 11 points and ten assists on the night. It's the first double-double involving assists for the team this year. It's Hamilton's second double digit assist game on the season.
Sophomores Darwin Morales and Kerwiken Morpas chipped in 12 points on the night. Jahkeal Samuel added 10 points and was (4-4) from the field. Hegarty and Samuel were a combined (9-9) for the game.
The Mingoes were led in scoring by Kemsy Sylvester, who notched a game-high 27 points. The Falcons dominated the glass during the contest, securing 51 rebounds, compared to the Mingoes' 25.
The Falcons led 50-32 at half. The second half saw more of the same as the Falcons stretched their lead to 30+ late.
The Falcons move to 8-2 on the year (4-1 at home). They take on Toccoa Falls (GA) on Saturday at 6 PM in Conn Gymnasium.
