Falcons Hosts CAC Cross Country Championship; Johnson Qualifies for Nationals, Falcons Earn Conference Honors

LAKELAND, Fla. — Florida College hosted the 2025 Continental Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship last Friday, November 7, at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Florida.
Representing the men’s team, Sam Johnson delivered an impressive performance, finishing fifth overall to earn a spot at the NAIA National Championship. His efforts also secured a place on the First Team All-Conference, recognizing him among the top runners in the CAC this season.
Johnson, along with Carlie Gainer, was honored with the Champion of Character Award, presented to student-athletes who best exemplify the NAIA’s core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
On the women’s side, Gainer led the Falcons with a 13th-place finish, followed closely by Kendall Griggs in 14th and Katherine Raif in 15th, rounding out a strong team effort for Florida College.
The championship capped a successful season for the Falcons, highlighted by individual achievements, leadership recognition, and a national qualification for Johnson, who will represent Florida College at the NAIA Cross Country National Championship later this month.
