Chase Teichmann finished his fourth season as Head Coach at Florida College. A native of Brentwood, Tenn., Teichmann previously spent three years as the assistant coach for the Falcons. He came to Florida College from Freed-Hardeman University, in Henderson, Tenn. where he was the graduate assistant coach for two seasons. Prior to his time at Freed-Hardeman, Teichmann attended UT-Chattanooga, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management in 2015. He received his Master’s degree in Business Administration from FHU in 2017.

Teichmann's Falcons finished off his tenure with a spectacular 28-5 season. The Falcons finished #18 in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll. They won a program-record 17 straight games from mid-December to mid-March. The Falcons won the Continental Athletic Conference Championship for the second time in three years. They also defeated 10-seed Marian University in the first round of the NAIA National Tournament 84-71, which snagged Teichmann his 100th win as a head coach (all at Florida College). This was the third year in a row the Falcons advanced to the Round of 32. Teichmann was named CAC Coach of the Year for the second time in three seasons.

In 2022-23 the Falcons started the season ranked in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll for the first time in program history. They debuted at #21 and reached as high as #10 in the country. They remained in the polls all year long (8 consecutive). They finished the year 27-6, reaching the Round of 32 of the NAIA National Tournament for the second consecutive year.

The Falcons were awarded a host bid in the NAIA National Tournament for their outstanding regular season resume. Despite being injury-plagued, FC received a 2-seed from the selection committee and defeated #15 seed Life in the first round.

Statistically, the Falcons ranked 5th in the country in points per game (87.0), 4th in three-pointers made per game (10.6), 4th in three-point percentage (a program-record 39.7%), 6th in assists per game (18.0), and 6th in opponents’ field goal percentage (a program-record 39.1%). The Falcons have been top-4 in the NAIA in threes made per game all three seasons in the Teichmann era, while also being top-6 in assists per game.

Florida College's players were awarded numerous accolades for their tremendous accomplishments. Matt Simpson was once again named 1st Team NAIA All-American, CAC Player of the Year and 1st Team All-Conference. He was also a Final 25 Finalist for the Bevo Francis Award, given out to the best player in small college basketball every year. Anthony Bittar was named 1st Team All-Conference. Ladarron Cleveland was 2nd Team All-Conference after suffering a season-ending injury in January. Calvin Finch Jr. was named Honorable Mention All-Conference.

In 2021-22, Florida College had an unprecedented, record-breaking season in Teichmann's second year as head coach of the Falcons, where he was named Continental Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. The Falcons finished the year 31-4, setting the school record for wins in a season and season winning percentage (.886). They were Continental Athletic Conference Champions, winning the first conference championship for Florida College Men's Basketball in thirty years. FC was 12-0 in conference play. They also achieved a perfect 14-0 record on their home court. The Falcons qualified for the NAIA National Tournament as a 9-seed. They defeated 8-seed Evangel University 75-72 in the first round, winning the first NAIA national tournament game in Florida College athletics history. They lost in the Round of 32 to the eventual national champions, Loyola University-New Orleans.

Statistically, the Falcons finished 1st in the NAIA in three-pointers made (375), also a program record. They also ranked 2nd in three's made per game, 3rd in points per game, 6th in three-point percentage, 6th in field goal percentage (a school-record 49.6%), 3rd in assists per game, and 16th in opponent's field goal percentage.

Falcons' players garnered countless awards during the 21-22 season. Matt Simpson became the all-time leading scorer in Florida College Basketball history and was named an NAIA 1st Team All-American, the first in school history. He was also named CAC Player of the Year, Conference Tournament Most Outstanding Player, and 1st Team All-Conference. Phat Cleveland was named 2nd Team All-Conference. Chinedu Okonkwo was named an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention, Conference New-Comer of the Year, and 1st Team All-Conference.

In his first season at the helm, Teichmann led the program to a number of firsts and program-bests. The Falcons finished 14-12, posting their first winning season since becoming a full-time member of the NAIA (2018-19 season). The Falcons made significant strides on the defensive side of the ball, allowing 74.5 points per game in SSAC play compared to 89.9 the year before; a 15.4 point per game improvement. Teichmann's team maintained its offensive identity. The Falcons ranked 3rd in the country in three-pointers made per game at 11.96. They ranked 5th in the country in assists per game at 19.12. They ranked 5th in the country and set an SSAC conference record for team assist/turnover ratio at 1.57. The efficient offense only managed 12.19 turnovers per game, which was good for 1st in the conference. The Falcons posted their best team free-throw (72.2%) in the NAIA era. FC had two players on the All-Conference Teams (Ladarron Cleveland, and Matt Simpson). Ladarron Cleveland was also named the SSAC Freshman of the Year. Six of the twelve losses in Teichmann's first season came by three points or less.

In his first season at FC as an assistant, Teichmann made an immediate impact. The Falcons averaged 23.9 assists per game, a big jump from the 14.2 per game the year before. They were second in the country in assists per game at all levels. They averaged 92.8 points per game and hit 357 three-pointers. They finished with a record of 22-7 in their transitional year to the NAIA.

During his second season as an assistant in 2018-19, they continued the offensive trend, ranking 4th in assists per game (19.1) in NAIA Division I and 3rd in three-pointers made per game (11.1). The Falcons averaged 84.5 points per game, with five players averaging over 10 points per game. They led the SSAC in free throw percentage (71.3%) and finished the year 12-18.

In the 19-20 season, serving as associate head coach, the Falcons finished the year with a 13-17 record. They ranked 2nd in NAIA Division I in assists per game at 20.9. They ranked 1st in the SSAC in three-pointers made per game in conference play (10.6). FC had the conference's leading scorer in Matt Simpson (23.3 PPG).

Known as a great recruiter, Teichmann spearheaded the recruitment of three-time NAIA All-American (twice 1st-Team), and the all-time leading scorer in program history (2,959 points), Matt Simpson during his senior season at Plant City High School. Teichmann also landed the 20-21 SSAC Freshman of the Year, Ladarron Cleveland from Seminole High School in 2020. The 2021 recruiting class saw Teichmann land the highest-rated player in the Prep Hoops Florida rankings to sign with Florida College, Anthony Bittar - coming in at #80. He brought in Chinedu Okonkwo as a transfer. Okonkwo was named CAC Co-Newcomer of the Year, 1st Team All-Conference, and was an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention.

While at Chattanooga, Teichmann was a student assistant for the men's basketball team under Will Wade, the former Head Men’s Basketball Coach at LSU, and current Head Coach at McNeese State.

In Teichmann's first season at Freed-Hardeman, the Lions finished with a record of 25-8 and were the American Midwest Conference Regular Season Champions. During the same season, the Lions also notched a win over NCAA Division I opponent Murray State University in an exhibition game on November 5, 2015.

FHU also had a record-breaking season, passing the record for three-pointers made in a season with 343, and scoring average per game at 89.5. The Lions also reached the NAIA National Tournament for the 3rd consecutive season.

In his second season at FHU, the Lions finished with a record of 19-12, which was tied for 3rd place in the American Midwest Conference. The Lions ranked 1st in the NAIA Division I in assists per game at 19.8. They ranked 6th in both three-pointers made per game (10.03) and three-point field goal percentage (39.4%).

Teichmann graduated from Brentwood High School in 2011 where he played for legendary head coach Dennis King.

He has three brothers: Kyle, Logan, and Grant. Kyle played for Freed-Hardeman from 2009-2014 and was a three-time NAIA All-American and two-time Conference Player of the Year. He is in the Freed-Hardeman Hall of Fame. Logan played football at UT-Chattanooga. Grant played college basketball at NCAA Division II Carson-Newman University and is in his fifth year playing professionally overseas currently for the Dresden Titans in the German ProA League.

Teichmann and his wife Maggie reside in Tampa, with their daughter, Izzy.
