Lady Falcons Sign Sarah Lutz
The Lady Falcons basketball team signed Sarah Lutz for the 2017 season on Thursday, June 15.
Coming from Englewood, Florida, Sarah began playing basketball when she was just four years old. She continued playing throughout her childhood and competed on her high school’s varsity team for three years. Sarah began her collegiate career at Southeastern University and continued on to Florida SouthWestern State College, and now she is looking forward to getting more playing experience at a small school like Florida College.
“It’s very exciting,” Sarah said. “I’m nervous, but it is a good nervous.”
In the 2016 season, the Lady Falcons earned a bid to the USCAA Basketball National Championship Tournament for the first time in the program’s history. Former assistant coach David Wadlington will be taking over the women’s basketball team for the 2017 season, so Sarah will have the opportunity to play for him during his inaugural season as head coach.
Sarah will join Florida College’s basketball team as a point guard while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis on sport management. Both of Sarah’s parents are supporting her as she makes this transition.
“My mom and I share a love of sports, and my parents have always been my biggest supporters in whatever direction I wanted to go,” Sarah said.
