Coach Jean Crispell became the coach of the Florida College cheerleading squad in the fall semester of 2005. She grew up in Tallahassee, Florida, where she actively participated in a number of sports. She received a dental hygiene degree from Tallahassee Community College. She is married to Florida College’s academic dean, Dr. Brian Crispell, and they have three children.

Though she was never a cheerleader herself, Crispell certainly knows the value of teamwork, commitment and leadership in the arena of athletics. She is determined to see her girls recognized for all of their dedication, hard work and talent.

Florida College cheerleading is an integral part of Falcons basketball and of the school as a whole. At every home game, players are motivated and the crowd enlivened by these talented young women. In addition to being upbeat and enthusiastic, cheerleaders must be well-coordinated and diligent in practice in order to master the art of stunting.

Florida College cheerleading gives young women an athletic outlet for showing their school spirit and supporting the basketball team without compromising their morals. Coach Jean Crispell has worked hard at making sure outfits are both stylish and modest. There is also a spiritual focus; prayers are offered before each game and regular Bible studies are conducted.
