The Florida College Falcons got back on track Tuesday night against the Trinity College Tigers. At the final buzzer, the scoreboard showed 107-66, Falcons.
Kent Hegarty and Austin Mills led the Falcons in scoring on the night with 17 points each. Mills and Hegarty are tied as the team's leading scorers, with 16.2 points per game and have scored in double figures in every contest. Jordan Benjamin also continued his streak of double-figure scoring, with 14 points. Franck Tsoungui added 13 points and four assists.
Lynorris Hamilton had his best game as a Falcon. Coming off the bench, he helped provide the spark that the Falcons needed. Trailing 33-30, Hamilton, Jahkeal Samuel, Austin Mills, Jordan Benjamin, and Franck Tsoungui checked into the game and led the Falcons on a 19-2 run that saw them lead 49-35 after a free throw by Hamilton. The Falcons led 51-42 at the half.
The second half was the best period of basketball the Falcons have played this year. Everybody got in on the action as the Falcons turned great defense into easy offense. Ball movement led to open three's and layups for the home team.
The Falcons set the mark for most made threes in a game this season with 16. They assisted on 31 of 40 made shots. 107 is the most the Falcons have scored this year. The Falcons have a much-needed break until their next game versus Johnson University (FL) on November 16, at Conn Gymnasium.
